Biking Houtzdale Line Trail

On July 9, 2006, Jette and I decided to explore a new (to us) trail that started at Smoke Run, a small village near Houtzdale, PA. We never got to see much of the trail. As soon as we arrived I had to fix a flat on my bike and only a half mile in to the ride the whole tire gave way. I still got some nice photos on the short ride.

Scouting out the trail by car it looks to be a nice trail going through rural fields and small villages. The trail surface varies a little with crushed stone, some cinder and sod. Note: I do not blame my flat on the trail surface but on the deterioration of the guard inside the wheel that protects the tube from the spindle ends.
